# Cards, Cases and Cosy Season: What Amazon UK Was Searching For in September 2026

by **Emily Highett** 29 September 2026

If you want to know what Britain is really thinking about, skip the opinion polls and look at the Amazon search bar. Nobody lies to a search bar. From the 13th-19th of September we've taken the top 200 search terms on Amazon UK and sorted them into the stories they tell: one very big birthday, one very expensive phone, and a nation quietly preparing for the darkest months of the year with batteries, dehumidifiers and a truly heroic amount of toilet roll.

Whether you're planning seasonal content, sharpening your ad targeting, or just nosy about what your neighbours are buying, here's what the data says about September 2026.

## **Pokémon Turns 30 and Britain Throws a Party**

**![Blog Post Image (8)](https://www.wakecommerce.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20Image%20(8).jpg?width=1200&height=670&name=Blog%20Post%20Image%20(8).jpg)**

The single biggest story in this week's data has a lightning bolt tail. **'Pokemon 30th anniversary'** sits at number one, and it didn't come alone. **'30th anniversary pokemon'** (12), **'pokemon 30th'** (50), **'pokemon'** (14), **'pokemon cards'** (9), **'pokemon trading card game'** (6) and **'pokemon tcg'** (18) all made the list, most of them inside the top 20. That's seven separate ways of typing the same obsession.

The spread of spellings is telling. Some shoppers lead with the milestone, some with the brand, and some go straight for the cards. Either way, a lot of people who first caught 'em all on a Game Boy now have disposable income and a fierce sense of nostalgia. Their kids are joining in too, which means one household can easily generate two very different shopping baskets.

For anyone selling collectables, card sleeves, binders or display cases, this is your moment. The anniversary gives buyers a reason to spend, and collectors rarely stop at one pack.

## **New iPhone, Who Dis?**

![Blog Post Image (9)](https://www.wakecommerce.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20Image%20(9).jpg?width=1200&height=670&name=Blog%20Post%20Image%20(9).jpg)

A new iPhone has landed, and the search bar has noticed. Interestingly, the phone itself isn't the top search. **'iPhone 18 pro max case'** (2) outranks **'iPhone 18 pro max'** (4), which tells you shoppers are protecting the investment before it's even out of the box. Or, more likely, the phone arrived and they realised they'd need something between it and the kitchen floor.

The full accessory line-up is here: **'iPhone 18 pro case'** (7), **'iPhone 18 pro max screen protector'** (39), **'iPhone 18 pro screen protector'** (68), **'iPhone 18 pro'** (73) and **'iPhone 18'** (165). Meanwhile last year's models haven't gone anywhere. **'iPhone 17 pro max case'** (23), **'iPhone 17 pro case'** (66), **'iPhone 17 case'** (71), **'iPhone 17 pro max'** (70) and even **'iPhone 16 case'** (151) are all still searched, as some shoppers snap up the older models while prices drop.

The supporting cast is loyal as ever: **'power bank'** (16), **'anker power bank'** (134), **'power bank fast charging'** (195), **'usb c charger cable'** (106), **'iPhone charger'** (172), **'airpods'** (56) and **'apple watch'** (77). When a phone costs this much, nobody wants it running on 4% at 3pm.

## **Amazon, the Nation's Corner Shop**

At number three, beating LEGO, Kindles and every single phone, is **'toilet roll'**. Say what you like about the British public, but we have our priorities in order. **'Kitchen roll'** (20), **'dishwasher tablets'** (36), **'washing pods'** (176), **'washing up liquid'** (103), **'bleach'** (178) and **'fabric conditioner'** (179) complete the cleaning cupboard.

What stands out this week is how much of the weekly shop is now happening here too. **'Milk'** (34), **'bread'** (51), **'eggs'** (98), **'butter'** (196), **'cheese'** (152), **'potatoes'** (156), **'chicken'** (141) and plain old **'water'** (27) are all in the top 200. Add **'crisps'** (64), **'biscuits'** (136), **'sweets'** (55), **'chocolate'** (48) and **'pepsi max cans 24pk'** (43), and you have a basket that looks less like online shopping and more like a Friday night top-up run.

Then there are the batteries. **'AA batteries'** (10), **'AAA batteries'** (17), **'cr2032 batteries'** (99) and just **'batteries'** (184) all appear. Somewhere in every home, a remote control, a smoke alarm and a set of kitchen scales have all run flat at the same time.

## **Autumn Has Entered the Chat**

![Blog Post Image (10)](https://www.wakecommerce.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20Image%20(10).jpg?width=1200&height=670&name=Blog%20Post%20Image%20(10).jpg)

The summer clothes haven't even been put away and Britain is already dressing up for October. **'Halloween decorations'** (47), **'halloween'** (57), **'halloween costumes'** (79) and the Netflix-worthy single word **'horror'** (125) are all climbing. And because retail time runs roughly two months ahead of real time, **'advent calendar 2026'** (113) and **'christmas decorations'** (157) have also crept in. Yes, in September. No, we're not ready either.

The weather is making itself felt too. **'Dehumidifier'** (65), **'clothes airer'** (108), **'hot water bottle'** (138) and **'vacuum storage bags'** (83) (for swapping the summer duvet for the winter one) point to a nation battling the first signs of damp. **'Fairy lights'** (93) and **'led strip light'** (100) suggest we're also fighting the early sunsets.

And then there's the wildlife. **'Fruit fly trap'** (45) is still hanging around from the summer fruit bowl, while **'spider repellent'** (188) has arrived right on cue. Anyone who has met a house spider in late September knows exactly why.

## **The Supplement Shelf Gets Crowded**

September is the new January. Have you heard about the new September lock in trend? With the kids back at school and the holiday tan fading, plenty of us are hitting reset. **'Magnesium glycinate'** (15) is the standout, sitting comfortably in the top 20, with plain **'magnesium'** (127) further down. It's become the wellness world's answer to everything from poor sleep to stress, and the search volume shows it.

The gym bag staples are all present: **'protein powder'** (24), **'creatine'** (25), **'electrolytes'** (32), **'resistance bands'** (118) and **'yoga mat'** (161). **'Vitamin d'** (72) has also returned for the season, right on time for the UK losing its sunshine. **'Nutrition geeks'** (173) appearing as a brand search shows supplement shoppers are getting loyal to names they trust.

For those who'd rather not leave the house, **'walking pad'** (85) is there for steps under the desk. **'Blood pressure monitors'** (89) and **'water flosser'** (110) hint at a slightly more grown-up kind of self-care, while **'tongue scraper'** (190) proves TikTok's bathroom routines are still making their way into real baskets.

## **Squeeze, Sparkle and Press Start**

![Blog Post Image (13)](https://www.wakecommerce.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog%20Post%20Image%20(13).jpg?width=1200&height=670&name=Blog%20Post%20Image%20(13).jpg)

If there's one thing children of 2026 agree on, it's that things should be squishy. **'Squishy'** (22) sits in the top 25, joined by **'squishy toys'** (116) and **'needoh'** (67), the stretchy stress balls that seem to be on every school bag keyring. Parents, we salute you for finding them on the carpet. **'Bedazzling kit'** (40) is a wonderfully specific entry, and we can only imagine the amount of gems now lodged in the nation's sofas.

**'LEGO'** (5) is sitting in the top five as ever, and **'gruffalo granny'** (11) has made an appearance, proof that the Gruffalo universe is still expanding and bedtime stories are still big business.

On the gaming side, **'wolverine ps5'** (35) makes a strong showing inside the top 40, as superhero fans get their claws out. **'PS5'** (95), **'ps5 controller'** (84), **'ps5 games'** (137), **'xbox controller'** (146), **'nintendo switch 2'** (69) and **'switch 2'** (129) keep the console crowd well represented, and **'gaming chair'** (94) and **'gaming pc'** (175) show some players are going all in on the setup.

## **Pencil Cases, Sofa Beds and Freshers' Week**

The new term has left its mark all over the list. **'Pens'** (97), **'highlighters'** (158), **'whiteboard pens'** (147), **'pencil case'** (104), **'notebook'** (171) and **'a4 paper'** (143) could have been copied straight from a school supplies letter. **'Laptop'** (41), **'tablet'** (135), **'ipad'** (28), **'headphones'** (49) and **'ear buds'** (119) cover the more expensive end of that letter.

Then there's the unmistakable freshers' starter pack. **'Mini fridge'** (80), **'extension lead'** (30), **'kettle'** (31), **'rice cooker'** (91), **'slow cooker'** (112), **'cutlery set'** (183), **'shower caddy'** (193) and **'ear plugs'** (192) (for those thin halls walls) all feature. **'Sofa bed'** (199) is there too, for the parents who've realised the spare room is free again, or the student who's already offering their floor to friends.

For grown-ups heading back to their desks after summer, **'desk'** (96), **'office chair'** (131), **'monitor'** (180), **'laptop stand'** (160), **'wireless mouse'** (185) and **'printer'** (168) point to plenty of home offices getting an autumn upgrade.

## **The Ones That Made Us Look Twice**

Every top 200 has a few entries that raise an eyebrow. This week's highlights:

- **'Medicube'** at number eight. The K-beauty brand has outranked Kindle, AirPods and every Pokémon search bar one, and **'medicube zero pore pad'** (182) shows fans know exactly which product they're after.
- **'Microwave egg poacher'** (54) in the top 60. Britain's brunch ambitions are alive and well, they just don't involve a pan of simmering water.
- **'Owala water bottle'** (74) and plain **'owala'** (194) both appear. The Stanley cup has competition, and it comes in a lot of colours.
- **'Bubble wrap'** at number 42. Either a lot of people are moving house, or a lot of people just want something to pop.
- **'Grass seed'** (53) in late September, because the British lawn is a lifelong project that no amount of drought will stop.

## **What Brands Should Take From This**

**Big moments beat big budgets.** The Pokémon anniversary and the iPhone 18 launch dominate the top of the list. If your product can connect to a cultural moment, even loosely, make that link clear in your titles, images and ad targeting while interest is at its peak.

**Model numbers matter.** Shoppers aren't searching for "phone case", they're searching for the exact phone they own. The same goes for batteries (AA, AAA, CR2032) and replacement parts like toothbrush heads. Specific listings win specific searches.

**Everyday essentials are a serious opportunity.** Toilet roll, milk, bread and dishwasher tablets sit alongside premium tech. For consumables brands, subscribe-and-save, multipacks and sharp pricing are what keep shoppers coming back every month.

**Get ahead of the calendar.** Halloween, advent calendars and Christmas decorations are already in the top 200 in September. If you sell anything seasonal for Q4, your listings, A+ content and campaigns should be live now, not in November.

**September is a second January.** Supplements, fitness kit and home office gear are all performing. Position your products around fresh starts and new routines, not New Year's resolutions.
